Brief History
The Ministry of Housing and Environment is a service Ministry redesigned in September, 2020 by the present administration from the defunct Ministry of Housing with a vision and mission to facilitate the socio-economic development of Bauchi State. It is to provide adequate and affordable Housing accommodation for the teaming population of Bauchi State. In essence, the Ministry has the statutory responsibility for the Housing matters and to ensure standardization, aesthetic and sustainable development through supervision, maintenance of all Government buildings and infrastructure, Public Private Partnership (PPP) Estates for the good citizens and other residents in Bauchi State. It is also charged with the responsibility of conservation and protection of the Environment.
The Ministry has recently undergone a strategic restructuring process to incorporate two additional Directorates, namely, Public Building and Climate Change aimed at enhancing diversification and strengthening our service delivery.
